Laurel Cyrene is a U.S. Army Veteran and the mother of five that has been creating Art for over forty years. Her love for Art first started when she watched her mother paint as well as going with her father as a photographer for the military. Originally from California she majored in Art Illustration but later graduated from Kansas State University with a B.S. degree in Education. In 1989 she moved to the San Antonio area and taught Art in the public schools and private lessons and classes until retirement. Her art has been published in magazines and manuals. She has won numerous awards for her Paintings, drawings and jewelry making. She uses different media’s and enjoys depicting animals, landscapes and people.
She lives in Medina County.
She is a member of the River Art Group Gallery, San Antonio Art League, Blue Star Art Cooperative, Hotel Contessa Resident Artist (SA), Has her Art work available at the River Art Group Gallery (SA), Starving Artist Gallery (SA), Old Bakery and Emporium (Austin), San Antonio Art League (SA) (rotating), The Hotel Contessa (SA).
Her work has taken 1st place ribbons and peoples choice. She also was Vice President of a local group The Friendship Art Club for years where she set up and maintained their art site on the web. She painted Murals for local churches and taught after school programs at schools in the San Antonio area.
